Gone, is the warmth Of the safe shores I’m watching you struggle from the distance but there’s nothing I can do I am stretching out my hand, wondering if you’ll take it This is where the ocean darkens Far away from land This is where the ocean darkens You can no longer stand Gone, are the days Of certainty The height of the sky Is shadowed by The anvil clouds that pull it down It makes the bottom seem so much deeper You cannot stand what lasted days, only lasts hours now The clarity is all gone now But now I struggle to separate between the disease and the things that come from your heart This is where the ocean darkens Far away from land This is where the ocean darkens You can no longer stand You’re so far away now you’re behind the horizon

Silver Ore 06:28
Silver Into the dark we go to find something pure Something to drag us out of this painful existence Pickaxe in hand, and with hope in our hearts We enter these mines, with a dream We lost our way, in these caves We have to find a way, out of the dark Some way to make everything worth it in the end The silver will surely save us It will give us a way to buy ourselves out It will make all of this worth it The silver will surely save us At least that’s what I hope Into the dark we go to find something pure Something to drag us out of this painful existence Pickaxe in hand, and with hope in our hearts We enter these mines, with a dream We lost our way, in these caves We have to find a way, out of the dark Some way to make everything worth it in the end The silver will surely save us It will give us a way to buy ourselves out It will make all of this worth it The silver will surely save us At least that’s what I hope In these caves all the walls look the same A struggle against time monotony They are the same, it is a struggle against time itself We have to find a way, out of the dark Some way to make everything worth it in the end The silver will surely save us It will give us a way to buy ourselves out It will make all of this worth it The silver will surely save us At least that’s what I hope The silver will surely save Save us The silver will surely save Save us

Tides 05:21
These hands are too weak, from holding on For such a long time I wouldn’t blame you for anything everyone would lose against the tide I just kept hoping that these days would last That sanity would prevail Time is the strongest force of all It even molds the rocks on the coast The waves are closing in Taking away my hope No one can stand forever we all fall one day Crushed by our own weight The waves are closing in Taking away my hope Somehow, I knew this day would come I just kept hoping that these days would last That sanity would prevail I just kept hoping that these days would last That sanity would prevail Your body gave up, after years of falling

about

Lost in the Currents is Råte's second studio EP and first wandering into concept albums. Drawing more heavily on ambient soundscaping and melodic influence, Råte immerses the listener and allows them to get lost in the ebb and flow of slowly building sound waves that build into a tsunami. Much like the tides of the ocean forcing a swimmer gently away from the shore, only for a sudden onset of adrenaline to kick in, Lost in the Currents opens with a serene seascape before pummelling into This Is Where The Ocean Darkens. Songs are bridged to build and release, over and over again, like tidal waves washing over you. As interludes and ambient textures swirl, so to do recurring lyrical themes and song structures form eddies. Råte's most ambitious release yet, the five tracks on Lost in the currents will immerse you, only to drown you with the force of a raging ocean storm, before allowing you to resurface and breath again by the end of its 22 minutes.
